WILMORE, Ky. -- The Asbury University men's soccer team fell 3-0 to non-conference opponent Thomas More on Thursday evening at home.
The Eagles move to 1-2 on the year and will be back in play again at home on Saturday at 5 PM against Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Thomas More struck within in the first five minutes of action early on to take a 1-0 advantage.
Asbury was unable to respond as the Saints would record a second goal in the 15
th minute of the contest for a 2-0 lead.
Thomas More controlled a 2-0 lead at the break and out-shot the Eagles 7-1 in the opening half.
Asbury did a better job of applying pressure on the Saints and creating more offensive opportunities in the second half. AU out-shot TMU 4-3 in the half, but were unable to find a goal.
The Saints would score once more in the 77
th minute of the match to move their lead up to 3-0.
Asbury finished the match with five shots as
Owen Sigey led the AU offense with a shot on-goal. Thomas More would collect a total of 10 shots with five placed on-goal.
Trey Miller played all 90 minutes at goalie and registered two saves.
