Women's Hoops Improves to 2-0 with 108-60 Victory at Great Lakes Christian

LANSING, Mich. – The Asbury University women's basketball team cruised to a 108-60 victory on Saturday afternoon at Great Lakes Christian College in Lansing, Mich.

The Eagles move to 2-0 on the season and conclude their Michigan road trip winning each game by over 40 points.

It was a complete performance on both ends for AU, who The Eagles shot just under 50 percent for the day and connected on 14 three-point field goals, while also scoring 24 points off of forced turnovers.

Saturday was also a wire-to-wire victory for Asbury, as they never trailed in the contest. The Eagles wasted no time in building a large lead and led 49-28 at the break.

The Eagles played a great third quarter of basketball as they out-scored GLC 29-11 and led 78-39. AU cracked the century mark later on in the fourth quarter.  

Seven Eagles finished Saturday's contest in double figures scoring. Freshman Faith Osborne led the way with a team-high 22 points. Kelsey Johnson added 20 points and six rebounds, along with a perfect 8-8 shooting from the foul line.

Sarah Dennison logged a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Zaria Napier also chipped in with a double-double of 11 points and 11 boards.

Cheyenne Fullwood scored 14 points, and Jaclynn Ruble finished the game with 11 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. Autumn Herriford rounded out the double figures scoring with 10 points respectively.

Asbury also won the rebounding edge over GLC 50-40. AU also forced 21 turnovers and had 13 steals.

AU returns to the court next on November 6 at home against University of the Cumberlands.
