CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Asbury University women's soccer team came away with a 1-0 (2 OT) victory at Cincinnati Christian University on Thursday evening in River States Conference play.
Paige Miller scored the game-winning goal in the 109
th minute to give AU its sixth win of the season. Asbury also improves to 5-2-1 in RSC play.
Additionally, Asbury has also won two straight matches and has won four of their past five contests.
AU posted 14 shots on Thursday night, placing nine shots on-goal. CCU collected 13 shots and had six shots land on-goal.
Asbury also held the edge on corner kicks, 4-1.
Miller and
Jordan Holt both led the AU attack with three shots apiece. Holt had an opportunity to potentially win the game in the closing seconds of the second half, but her shot attempt was saved by the CCU keeper to force overtime.
All three of Miller's shot attempts landed on-goal, including the game-winner, her first goal of the 2019 season.
Goalkeeper
Carley Pyles recorded another shutout and finished with five saves.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday at home against Brescia at 2 PM.
