MIDWAY, Ky. — Asbury men's tennis (10-5, 5-0 CCS) earned their fourth consecutive win in a 5-2 victory on Tuesday afternoon, while the women's squad (8-7, 5-1 CCS) battled to the wire but fell 4-3 to the Eagles.

Midway claimed the early edge by taking two of three doubles matches. The Eagles' lone point came at No. 2, where Ben Moore and Andres Caceres earned a solid 6-4 win. Ignacio Ardiles and Franco Patino battled at No. 1 but fell 6-3, while Alejo Britos and Paolo Cargnelutti dropped the No. 3 match.
Trailing after doubles, Asbury responded emphatically in singles, winning five of six matches to take control of the contest.
Ignacio Ardiles set the tone with a strong 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3. Alejo Britos followed with a dominant 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 4, and Andres Caceres added another point with a 6-4, 6-4 result at No. 5.
Franco Patino delivered one of the most competitive matches of the day at No. 2, grinding out a three-set win in a super tiebreak (6-1, 3-6, 1-0 [13-11]). Jose Ignacio Murillo also battled through a tight contest at No. 6, closing out a 6-3, 6-7 (5), 1-0 (7-5) victory.

AU secured the early advantage by winning two of three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Ariadna Zegarra and Malory Watkins earned a 6-3 win at No. 2, while Isabella Sanchez and Cara Clark battled to a 7-6 victory at No. 3.
The No. 1 pair of Alexandra Garcia and Katherine Nova pushed their match to a tiebreak before falling 7-6 (9-7).
In singles, Asbury picked up two wins but came up just short overall. Katherine Nova led the way with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 1, and Malory Watkins added a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4.
Ariadna Zegarra nearly provided another point at No. 2, forcing a third-set super tiebreak after a 6-0 second set, but ultimately fell in a close finish (2-6, 6-0, 1-0 [10-7]).
Midway secured the team win with victories at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 singles, with two of those coming in tightly contested super tiebreaks.

The teams will wrap up regular season play on Friday, April 17th at 12 PM taking on Covenant for Senior Day at Centre College in Danville, Ky.
