WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury women's basketball team (13-12, 11-5 CCS) came up short on Senior Day to LaGrange College (18-7, 14-2 CCS), 71-63, on Saturday afternoon.
After the game, the Eagles honored seniors Morgan Flannery, Aaliyah Edenstrom, and Sara Clark for their dedication and contributions to TeamAU.
LaGrange set the tone early, opening the game on a 22–13 first-quarter run while shooting 45 percent from the floor. Asbury settled in during the second quarter, trimming the deficit behind improved ball movement and perimeter shooting, but the Panthers maintained a 38–30 edge at halftime.
The Eagles continued to battle out of the break, yet LaGrange delivered its strongest stretch in the third quarter, connecting on over 57 percent of its shots while pushing the lead back to double digits. Despite matching LaGrange point-for-point in the final period, Asbury could not overcome the earlier surge.
Junior Ma'Kiya West led Asbury with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, anchoring the effort on both ends of the floor. Morgan Flannery added 11 points, while Trinity Britton chipped in 10.
The Eagles were efficient at the free-throw line, converting 16-of-18 attempts, but struggled from the field, shooting 29 percent overall.
