Andrews Named CCS Men's Soccer Coach of the Year
ATLANTA, Ga.--- Asbury men's soccer head coach Ben Andrews was named the 2026 Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Men's Soccer Coach of the Year on Saturday afternoon.
In his 17th year leading the AU men's soccer program, Andrews guided the Eagles to a 6-4-4 overall record and a 4-1 conference mark. Asbury closed the regular season by earning a win or draw in seven of its final eight matches. The Eagles also had five student-athletes earn All-CCS recognition, with Tyson Absher and Grant Slater named First Team All-CCS, while Aiden Fish, Jonas Irakoze, and Jacob Graston earned Second Team honors.
"It's been a blessing to work alongside Coach Andrews and see how far this program has come over the years. The growth from last season to this season has been incredible, but what stands out most is the investment he makes in our guys beyond the soccer field. He genuinely cares about who they are as people and is committed to helping them grow into successful young men," Assistant Coach Noah Welch.
The Eagles missed the CCS Tournament a season ago and now the 2026 regular season championship title and No. 1 postseason seed. Asbury also produced the CCS's top defensive record, conceding just 15 goals overall and only four during conference play.
"Working alongside Coach Andrews has been a privilege, and I am incredibly grateful to be able to learn from him every day. What makes him special isn't just the success he brings to the program, but his level of commitment and genuine care he has for the guys, his staff and the people within the department. Nobody is more deserving of this award than he is," said Asbury Associate Head Coach Stanton Smith.
