DANVILLE, Ky.--- The Asbury volleyball team (1-3, 0-0 CCS) split its two matches on Saturday in Danville, Ky., to conclude the Centre Invitational. AU fell in five sets to Hanover College in the first match and then swept Wilmington College (0-3, 0-0 OAC) for their first win of the season.
Game One | HANOVER 3, ASBURY 2
Hanover took the first set, 25-18, before Asbury earned a thrilling 30-28 win in the second set of the match to even things up at 1-1. AU soared to a 25-15 win in the third set, going ahead 2-1.
The Panthers offense responded with a 25-16 fourth set win and then continued to a 15-7 fifth set victory to secure the match.

Game Two | ASBURY 3, WILMINGTON 0
Asbury's offense played its best match of the young season, tallying 43 kills at a .259 hitting percentage and seven service aces.
AU won all three sets and allowed more than 20 points only once in the game (25-19, 25-18, 29-27). Asbury held Wilmington's hitting percentage to .093 %, including 20 errors compared to the Eagles 14 mistakes.
Senior
Lucy Kate Gray led Asbury with three service aces, in addition to her 12 assists. Sophomore
Isabelle VandeSchraaf reached 25 digs alongside 10 kills, another double-double for the reigning AVCA Region 6 Freshman of the Year.
Sidney Haysley led all hitters with 12 kills, as well as two service aces. Sophomore
Abigail Bruner had two blocks and two aces.
The Eagles used 39 total assists to score their points, 12 more than Wilmington.
Sara Beth Gray had 12 while freshman
Julia Wright had a career-high nine assists.
