JACKSON, Miss.--- The Asbury men's tennis team (3-1, 1-0 CCS) swept their first-ever Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) match on the road against Belhaven University (3-5, 0-2 CCS) on Saturday afternoon in Jackson, Miss., 7-0, while the Eagles also picked up a 4-3 non-conference win over Millsaps College (1-3) later in the day.
Match One | ASBURY 7, BELHAVEN 0
Asbury's No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams both took victories in their matchups to secure the doubles point for AU to start the day.
Franco Patino and
Ignacio Ardiles took a 6-2 win in the No. 1 match while
Ben Moore and
Andres Caceres earned a gritty 7-6 win.
In singles for Asbury it was
Ben Moore sweeping the No. 3 match and
Andres Caceres taking a convincing win the the No. 5 battle, 6-2, 6-0. Asbury won every singles match, Alejandro Cacaeres taking the tie-breaker set in the No. 1 matchup.
Match Two | ASBURY 4, MILLSAPS 3
The Asbury No. 2 doubles team,
Ben Moore and
Andres Caceres, took a key doubles match over Belhaven, 7-5.
Gregorio Bustingorri and
Alejo Britos swept their No. 3 doubles match 6-0, giving the Eagles the doubles point after Belhaven took the No. 1 matchup.
AU and Millsaps split the individual matchups down the middle, each team taking three victories.
Alejandro Caceres took his second No. 1 singles match in a tie-breaker set of the day, leading Asbury as the team captain.
Ignacio Ardiles,
Andres Caceres, and
Alejo Britos each took strong wins in the No. 4, 5, and 6 singles matches for Asbury.

The next matchup for Asbury will be on March 18th against Depauw University on their spring break trip to Hilton Head Island, S.C.
