A Cayden Lancaster made layup for Asbury brought the Eagles within 11 (59-48) with 10:18 to go in the game, but Belhaven went on a 20-12 run from that point. The Blazers outrebounded AU 40-28, and led AU into their most turnovers in a game this year at 19 giveaways.

Asbury had 24 points come off their bench, powered by Cam Jones with eight points and Lancaster with five scored. Jones went 3-4 from the field and made two threes along with two assists.

The Eagles shot 36% from the floor and went 14-17 from the line, while Belhaven shot 49% from the field and went 10-13 at the stripe. The Blazers used 21 second chance points and 18 points on fast breaks.

Sophomore guard Aden Slone dished six assists for Asbury, taking him to seven games this season with five or more assists.

STORY - QUOTE
"Until about 10 minutes left in the game, we had put ourselves in a position to really be in it. Cut it within 8. Credit to Belhaven, there is a reason why they've won 16 straight and are 21-3 overall. They have some guys that can really make plays and get going. We need a huge crowd next week at the Luce against Covenant."
Russ Abner | Asbury Associate Head Coach
