"We are so glad Matthew and Quinn have been recognized by the NCCAA for their respective seasons," said Asbury baseball head coach, Manny Cervantes. "They both had terrific years and helped us have a successful season. It was a great way for Matthew to conclude his collegiate baseball career and is a significant encouragement for Quinn on what he accomplished and what he's still capable of in the future. We are grateful on how they have represented our team on and off the field."

Johnson, a six-foot-two infielder from Lexington, Ky., finished his AU baseball career with a .387 batting average in his final season. The fifth year also led the squad with a team-high of 55 hits. Johnson's SLG% was .486 and recorded an OPS of .933 OPS, with eight doubles and two home runs. The 2024 NCCAA Mideast Region Player of the Year finished with 31 RBIs and a .447 OBP including 10 walks, seven HBP and 31 runs scored.

"Matthew had a remarkable year on the field, but even more importantly he led his teammates well and honored Christ in the process," said VP for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Communications, Mark Whitworth. "He possesses a quiet consistency and dedication in many areas of his life. We congratulate him for earning the distinction of NCCAA All-American and are thrilled to have him remain a member of TeamAU to serve as a graduate assistant in our department."

Nobles, a six-foot outfielder from Nicholasville, Ky., led the team in doubles (10), triples (5), and stolen bases (24), while adding a .346 average, .981 OPS, and a .559 SLG for AU. Nobles was recently recognized for his outstanding play during the NCCAA Mideast Regionals as a All-Region First Team member.

"God has blessed Quinn with outstanding athletic ability and he always competes with great passion and determination," said Whitworth. "He is very deserving of this honor and we are thankful to have him our program for two more seasons. We are excited to see him grow as a leader both on and off the field."

The Asbury baseball team finished with a record of 21-19, before falling in the NCCAA Mideast Region Title game to Oakland City. This season marked the fifth straight complete season that AU has eclipsed over 20 wins (2020 season 14-4 record cut short due to COVID-19).
