Baseball and Softball Sweep Player of the Year Awards and Finish Decorated in NCCAA Mideast Regional Recognition
GREENVILLE, SC. --- The Asbury baseball and softball programs were recently recognized in NCCAA Mideast Regional Awards, headlined by AU's sweep of the Player of the Year Honor. MBA student
Matthew Johnson captured the award on the baseball side and senior Social Work major
Taylor Enlow seized the softball recognition. A total of 14 Asbury student-athletes took home awards and were honored for their individual seasons.
For the third consecutive year Asbury baseball produced the NCCAA Mideast Region Player of the Year.
Matthew Johnson followed up his 2023 NCCAA Mideast Region First Team campaign by hitting .387 with a team-high of 55 hits and a .933 OPS. Johnson's SLG% was .486 with eight doubles and two home runs. Asbury's leading hitter finished the year with 31 RBIs and a .447 OBP including 10 walks, seven HBP and 31 runs scored.
Taylor Enlow, a senior from Bowling Green, Ky., took home the 2024 NCCAA Softball Mideast Region Player of the Year. She finished the season tied for second in the NCCAA in doubles (13), top 25 in the NCCAA in average (.415), 15th in the NCCAA in slugging (.698), and top 20 in OPS (1.156). Enlow started all 33 games for Asbury and produced 44 hits, 27 runs scored, 40 RBIs, four triples, and three home runs. Enlow leaves Asbury tallying the most hits in an AU career (195), T-1st in homeruns (18), first in runs scored (198), and first in RBIs (131).
Three Asbury Eagles baseball players were named to the 2024 NCCAA Mideast Region First Team including
Matthew Johnson,
Quinn Nobles, and
Aaron Beaman. Sophomore
Quinn Nobles led the team in doubles (10), triples (5), and stolen bases (24). Nobles added a .346 average, .981 OPS, and a .559 SLG for AU. Freshman
Aaron Beaman hit for a .317 average with 20 hits, 12 runs, and nine RBI.
AU softball finished with three student-athletes named to the 2024 NCCAA Mideast All-Region Team including
Taylor Enlow,
Abigail Moffat, and
Natalie Ison. AU Newcomer of the Year nominee
Abigail Moffat posted impressive numbers in her freshman campaign hitting for a .385 average on 42 hits. She finished with a 1.067 OPS, .578 SLG, and a .489 OBP. Moffat led the team in runs scored (36), recorded ten doubles, one triple, three HRs, and 18 RBIs. Sophomore
Natalie Ison hit for a .303 average on 30 hits, 18 runs, six doubles, a team-leading four HRs, and 26 RBIs.
Seven Asbury baseball student-athletes were named to the 2024 NCCAA Mideast Region Second Team.

Noah Brown,
Kaden Dugle,
Eli Wilder,
Jackson Cole,
Ryan Yates, and
Brady Robeson all received honors. Smith hit for a .316 average on 18 hits and ten RBI. Brown led the team in OBP at .577 (2nd in NCCAA) drawing 34 walks and 17 HBP, while Dugle led the team in HRs (8) and RBIs (33).
Wilder, Cole, and Yates combined for 24 of AU's 40 starts on the mound. Comeback Player of the Year
Jackson Cole shined with a 4.48 ERA, five wins, and team-leading 48 strikeouts. Wilder finished his career with a solid year posting a 3.86 ERA in 35 IP, while Yates impressed in his freshman season yielding just a 4.54 ERA in 39.2 IP.
Brady Robeson posed a 3.00 ERA out of the bullpen, collecting three saves in 12 IP.
AU baseball was also represented on the defensive-side by
Quinn Nobles and
Andrew Billington, who both received gold-glove honors.
