Cole Extends School-Record in Saves; Eagles Take 7-6 Win over MSJ


STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
WILMORE, Ky.--- Graduate student Jackson Cole came on in the ninth to raise his school-record save amount on Tuesday night in Wilmore as Asbury baseball (17-14) defeated Mount St. Josesph (14-13) with 10 hits and no errors, 7-6. 

Eli Wilder, the right-handed grad student went four innings with six strikeouts and two earned for his third win of the season, tying Jackson Cole for team-lead in wins. Sophomore Quinn Nobles and MBA student Noah Brown combined for four hits and three RBIs.

STORY - TOP PERFORMERS
* Quinn Nobles went 2-5 with two RBIs inicluding a triple
* Noah Brown went 2-3 with an RBI, two runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base
* Matthew Johnson had two hits with two runs scored, an RBI, a double, and a walk (15th mult-hit game this year)
* Tyler Hewlett hit his first home run of the season
* Andrew Billington had a triple, run scored, and an RBI
* Eli Wilder went four innings with six strikeouts and two earned for his third win of the year
* Jackson Cole took his ninth career save, an Asbury school-record
* Adam Thompson went two innings with three strikeouts and no runs out of the pen for AU


Story Header Inside Notes
* MSJ took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second before AU responded in the bottom-half with three runs, led by a Quinn Nobles triple
* Asbury responded each time MSJ scored with one in the fourth and two in the sixth
* MSJ scored three runs in the ninth to cut the AU lead to 7-6 with two outs
* Coach Cervantes brought on Jackson Cole with runners at second and third in the ninth to finish the game with a strikeout for AU to move to 17 wins
