Chick-Fil-A Featured Athletes | Owen Seymour and Jocelyn Schulte
WILMORE, Ky.--- This week our featured Chick-Fil-A athletes are
Owen Seymour and
Jocelyn Schulte. These two athletes highlight the six pillars of excellence that Asbury Athletics is about, and are standouts not only in their respective sports, but in the Asbury community as well.
Owen Seymour - Men's Swimming | So. | Signal Mountain, Tn.
What is your major?
I am a Psychology major.
Why did you choose Asbury?
I chose Asbury because of the amazing opportunity to continue my academic and athletic careers in a faith-based environment.
Career Aspirations:
Counselor
What Do You Enjoy?:
I enjoy just about any physical activity as long as it is outdoors and with good company.
Favorite Bible Verse:
Proverbs 3:5-6
What Head Swimming Coach Graham Duncan has to say about Owen:
It's been really awesome to see Owen come in as a new member of our team and so quickly embody what it means to be an Asbury athlete. He's a hard worker, a reliable presence in the locker room, and is always willing to lend a helping hand to a teammate. I've been blessed to coach Owen this semester and I'm looking forward to seeing how he continues to impact the team in the future.
Jocelyn Schulte - Women's Swimming I Fr. I Collierville, Tn.
What is your major?
I am majoring in media communications with an emphasis on production design.
Why did you choose Asbury?
I chose to attend Asbury University because I was drawn to the strong sense of fellowship among the swim team and the impressive media communications department.
Career Aspirations:
I hope to work in the field of production design in either film or theater.
What Do You Enjoy?:
I enjoy participating in theater, crocheting, and playing with my service dog.
Favorite Bible Verse:
My favorite verse is 2 Corinthians 1:3-5: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ."
Josie had a great freshman year. It was really fun to watch her growth in and out of the water. I enjoyed seeing her swim faster than she ever has in her life and establish her presence on the team. It wasn't always a smooth path, but I appreciate the way Josie knows herself and always seeks to give her best regardless of how she feels. And to have a few more years with her and her service dog Morgan is something that I'm very grateful for!
