  • What does serving, training, and competing for the glory of God mean to you?

Serving, training, and competing for His glory means competing with our maximum effort but also serving him while performing what we like doing. It is not always about winning, about us. Sometimes is about others, prioritizing my teammates’ happiness, and understanding that we should be thankful for the traits God blessed us with.

  • Who are some of the coaches, faculty and staff that have impacted you at AU?

Coach Miller has had great impact on me as a tennis player and as a person. He understands my background and works hard to make me, and my team, feel part of this community. He is always there to listen and give the best advice.

  • How have you grown spiritually during your time at Asbury?

In my time at Asbury, I recovered the faith I lost and thought I was not going to find again. It is a great community with such love. It taught me to prioritize others, that we are not here alone and that I always will have someone to talk to. God has used me to help people that are going through difficult situations, and lend them an ear, so they can reencounter themselves with God.

  • What advice would you give to new student-athletes coming to Asbury?

My advice to new student-athletes coming to Asbury is to let God guide you through your career here. Trust him. There are plenty people here who will be willing to help you and help you become better at your sport and a better person. The athletics team works tirelessly to improve student-athlete’s time here and make it easier to adapt regardless of where they come from.

Gregorio has been a bit of a sleeper for his first year and then suddenly this semester he came out on fire as a doubles specialist. He has great volleys and effort. He is also always prepared to cheer on his teammates when he is on the sideline. He has been a huge part of the turnaround we had in doubles from earlier in the semester.
