WINONA LAKE, In.--- Asbury women's basketball (18-9) fell in the first round of the NCCAA National Tournament in Winona Lake, In. hosted by Grace College to Carolina University (15-8), 57-69.
AU will now get ready to play tomorrow at 12 PM against Mission University in the fifth place bracket.

Haleigh Releford led AU scorers with 22 points (9-22 FG) (4-10 3PT), six rebounds and four steals.

Camryn Preston added 12 points (4-8 FG), six boards, and two steals

Ma'Kiya West scored 10 points and nine rebounds

Spencer Harvey recorded seven points and eight rebounds
* Carolina was led in scoring by Kamelija Ignatova's 16 points
* The Grizzlies Shantazia Gordon and Shamya Loham each recorded double-doubles
* Asbury shot 27% from the field and 17% from 3PT
* Carolina shot 42% from the field and 24% from beyond the arc
* The Eagles were out-rebounded, 42-59
* AU turned over CU 16 times, collecting 11 steals
* Asbury scored 30 points in the paint, Carolina 34
* The Eagles scored 13 points off of fast break and 12 second chance
* AU shot 10-16 from the free throw line
* CU led for all 40 minutes of game time
* Carolina out-scored AU 25-3 in the first quarter
* Asbury out-scored the Grizzlies by 10 points the next three quarters
* AU cut the lead all the way down to six with 2:11 to go after two

* AU moves to the losers bracket, playing for fifth place overall
* Asbury now sits at 18-9 on the season
* The Eagles out-scored Carolina by 10 after the first quarter

Asbury will play #2 Mission University tomorrow at 12 PM in the 5th place bracket
