SWANANNOA, NC.--- Asbury women's basketball (15-7) captured a victory against Warren Wilson College (0-21) on Saturday afternoon, 81-51. Senior Elementary Education major, Trinity Shearer led all scorers with 21 points and added a career-high 10 steals in the win to help the team extend its winning streak to eight games.


* Trinity Shearer led all scorers with 21 points (10-17 FG), career-high 10 steals, and five assists 
* Haleigh Releford scored 17 points (7-12 FG), recorded two steals and two rebounds
* Camryn Preston added 17 points (7-11 FG), seven rebounds, three blocks, and two steals
* Ma'Kiya West grabbed seven rebounds off the bench
* Warren Wilson was led by Tatyana Lewis who scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds


* Asbury turned in 42% from the field and 19% from deep
* The Eagles defense held the Owls to 33% from the field and 38% from three
* AU scored 48 points in the paint
* Asbury collected 27 points off 34 WW turnovers
* The AU bench outscored the Owls 21-7
* There were a total of two lead changes through out the entirety
* The Eagles won three out of the four quarters; dropping the second quarter 19-8
* Warren Wilson shot a perfect 3/3 from beyond the arc in the second frame
* The score was knotted at 33 apiece at the break
* AU made 19 total baskets in the second half to help run away from Warren Wilson; closing in on their eighth straight win, 81-51
* Trinity Shearer, Haleigh Releford, and Camryn Preston combined for 55 of the 81 Asbury points


* AU turned over Warren Wilson 34 times
* The Eagles held a slight margin in the rebounding department, 40-39
* Asbury outscored the Owls 48-18 in the second half
* AU shot 71% (10-14) from the free throw line

AU returns home for action on Saturday, February 10 at the Luce Center in Wilmore, Ky., at 2 PM to take on Warren Wilson.
