NASHVILLE, Tn.--- Asbury men's basketball (4-8, 0-0 CCS) sophomore guard
Cam Jones had 19 points with seven rebounds in Nashville, Tn., as the Eagles fell in an exhibition matchup with NCAA Division-I opponent Lipscomb University (8-5, 0-0 ASUN), 112-54.
Jones went 5-8 from three and 7-15 from the field alongside his seven boards. The business admin major from Harvest, Al., is averaging 13 points and over three rebounds a game in the first 12 games of the year.
Asbury came out strong on the road against Division-I Lipscomb with sharp-shooting, getting within three points with 7:40 to go in the first half, 28-25.
AU sophomore
Jonathan Combs had 11 points with five rebounds on the night. Combs went 5-12 from the field and a made a three-pointer. Graduate Student
Clayton Winter collected a team-high 11 rebounds against Lipscomb.
The Eagles made eight threes in the first half, scoring 30 points in the half. Lipscomb led 52-30 at the break and outscored AU 60-24 in the second half to take the win.
Cayden Lancaster had five points with three rebounds and a block for the Eagles.
Tyler Hall added seven points while
Ben McNew dished two assists.
AU and Lipscomb both made 11 three-pointers on the night, but the Bison out-rebounded Asbury 67-39 and shot 48% from the field offensively.

Asbury opens Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) play in Demorest, Ga., for a matchup with Piedmont University for their first ever CCS game next Saturday, January 4 at 4 pm.
