WILMORE, Ky.--- Asbury men's basketball (1-4, 0-0 CCS) graduate student
Clayton Winter had his second double-double in three games on Wednesday night in the Luce Center as the Eagles fell to Spalding University, 55-51.
The game was presented by The Kessinger Lee Group, the Official Wealth Management Partner of Asbury Athletics.
Asbury is now 1-1 overall in the series with Spalding University, after winning on the road in Louisville, Ky., last season against the Golden Eagles, 82-79.
Spalding led 33-27 at the end of the first half, and was outscored by AU 24-22 in the second, but held on. The Golden Eagles had 26 bench points compared to Asbury's 18 and 10 fast break points to AU with five collected.
Winter had 12 points at 5-9 shooting and grabbed 10 boards alongside two assists and a steal. Sophomore
Cam Jones scored 11 points with three made three-pointers and also grabbed three rebounds.

Cayden Lancaster had 10 points with two made threes and three rebounds.
Jonathan Combs and
Tyler Hall both had eight points for AU, Combs grabbing four rebounds and Hall adding two blocks.
Ben McNew had a career-high four steals for Asbury, collecting four rebounds as well. Spalding's Xavier Burton scored 11 points off the bench with three made three-pointers.
Spalding made 21 shots in the game while Asbury made 20 field goals. The Golden Eagles went 7-9 from the line while AU went 4-10 from the stripe. Both teams made five threes in the first half while AU made two in the second and Spalding made one three.
Asbury committed 12 turnovers while Spalding had 10 steals and six blocks.
Looking ahead, AU will host Wittenberg University in Wilmore, Ky., on Friday night at 7 pm.
