SEWANEE, Tn. --- Junior Alejandro Caceres, sophomore Franco Patino,  and freshman Ben Moore impressed over the weekend for Asbury men's tennis as the Eagles concluded the 2023 fall season at ITA Regionals in Sewanee, Tn. 

Caceres pulled out a gritty win in the No. 1 singles match for AU against the host school, Sewanee (6-4, 2-6, 1-0, (10-7)). Patino won two of his three individual matches, beating Piedmont (6-4, 7-5) and NCW (4-6, 4-2).

Moore, a freshman from Winter Park, Fl., took a key win over Rhodes College (6-1, 6-3) and then battled with Covenant before falling in a close match (7-5, 7-6). 

Head Coach Jarred Miller has another talented group heading into the 2024 spring season after taking 10 wins in 2023. The Eagles will look to junior leader, Alejandro Caceres, to lead the way as Asbury uses the winter to prepare for successful spring season. 

"This was our first-time attending ITA regionals as a NCAA Division III school and we went in not entirely sure what to expect in comparison to when we would go as a NAIA institution.This was an incredibly strong tournament with great depth of competition as we competed matches against individuals from three top 10 nationally ranked programs. We had some good wins and even in our losses we had some opportunities to show that we can remain competitive with these programs that have been established as this level for decades."
