Asbury Spring Student-Athletes Honored in NCCAA Academic Awards
GREENVILLE, SC.--- The National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) recently announced 18 Asbury student-athletes as 2023 Spring Scholar-Athletes. To be eligible for this honor junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes must have held a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher. Over 40 Asbury student-athletes have now been named NCCAA Scholar-Athletes for the 2022-23 school year.
Asbury baseball represented nine NCCAA Scholar-Athletes for the 2023 season. Among those honored were captains Matthew Baker and Jackson Cole. Kaden Dugle, Matthew Johnson, Colton Perkins, Caleb Poll, Thomas Wegmann, Eli Wilder, and David Savastio were also named Scholar-Athletes.
The NCCAA highlighted three Asbury softball players as Scholar-Athletes including Abby Fletcher, Olivia Judy, Olivia Palasek, and Taylor Enlow.
Four AU men's and women's tennis players earned the honor of NCCAA Scholar-Athlete including Rachel Call, Abigail Colton, Christian Phillips, and Yuri Tirado. For men's track and field, senior Ian Wilkinson received the award of NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
