Asbury baseball (19-12) will host more recent opponent, Mississippi University for Women, in a doubleheader on Thursday at 3/5 PM to begin the series.
The Eagles have faced off with the Owls many times in the past two years with AU taking the sweep on them earlier in the season. Asbury recorded double-digit runs for all three games of the series in their competition with the Owls in March.
Asbury is coming off a loss in a series against Wright State University - Lake Campus where they fell 2-1. Before WSU, the Eagles went on a hot 12-game win-streak, and are looking to find another sweep against the Owls.
Junior, Ethan Cartwright will lead AU at the plate, batting .412 and leading the team with 40 hits and 30 RBIs. Noah Brown will be another driving force for AU as he leads the team with 39 runs and an on-base percentage of .585.
AU will look to freshman pitcher Brody Bearden as he holds a 4-1 record and an ERA of 3.21. Bearden has grabbed 17 strikeouts from 28.0 innings pitched so far this year.
Holten Handel will aid AU as he leads with 25 strikeouts and holds a 3-2 record.
