Asbury Men's and Women's Basketball Highlighted as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes
Greenville, S.C.--- The National Christian College Athletics Association recently announced Division I Basketball Scholar-Athletes for the 2022-2023 season. Asbury men's basketball and women's basketball were well represented by a total of 11 student-athletes combined between the two programs being honored.
To qualify for the NCCAA Scholar-Athlete Award, the recipients were required to be a junior, senior or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or above. Asbury women's basketball were represented by four student-athletes for their outstanding work in the classroom. The Eagles also finished 19-11 on the season and won two of three games in the NCCAA National Tournament to finish fifth in the nation.
Asbury men's basketball (21-7) capped off a record-breaking season with seven Eagles being named scholar-athletes. AU also won two of their three games in Winona Lake, In., in the NCCAA National Tournament to finish in fifth place in the tournament.
