Asbury men's basketball (14-5) faces Boyce College (6-13) on Tuesday night for their second meeting with the Bulldogs in two games, this time in Louisville, Ky. The NCCAA matchup will tip-off at 7 pm as Asbury will go for their 15th win of the season.
Asbury defeated Boyce last Saturday in the Luce Center on Ray Shouse Day, 92-83. AU was led in the game by Nick Fort who boasted 28 points and 16 rebounds. Asbury guard Dakota Walden was a force as well with 17 points and five rebounds.
AU dominated the paint with 38 points compared to Boyce's 22, and took the offensive glass with 12 second chance points to Boyce's none. The overall rebounding battle went to AU as well at 44-28.
Boyce was led in the game by their junior forward Brody Madeira, who went for 34 points going 15-20 from the field. Madeira is averaging 17.6 points per game for the Bulldogs this season. Boyce is 4-4 on their home court this season, much stronger than their 2-9 away record.
Asbury has held their own so far on the road this year, holding a firm 4-2 record. Tuesday night begins the final two week stretch of the regular season for Asbury with four games left. The Eagles look to close out an incredible season and head into postseason play with tempo and confidence.
