HARRODSBURG, Ky.--- In the final game of the regular season on Friday night, junior Caleb Wallis shocked CU-Harrodsburg (10-13) with a buzzer-beating three that put Asbury (17-6) over the Pioneers, 76-75. 

With 3.5 seconds to go, Asbury found themselves down two (73-75) and were taking the ball out on the sideline with 3/4 of the court to go. Dakota Walden passed the ball in to Caleb Wallis who took two dribbles to pull from 30 feet for nothing but net to give Asbury their 17th win of the season. 

On a night where AU shot under 40 percent from the field and were missing their leader Nick Fort due to injury, they found a way to play good enough defense and make nine threes to give them the one point advantage they needed to complete the season sweep of CU-Harrodsburg. 

John Shoulders, the junior guard from Munfordville, Ky., was the star of the night, scoring a carer-high 29 points on 10-20 shooting from the field. Shoulders made four threes, grabbed four rebounds, and dished three assists. 

Dakota Walden put together another solid game for the Eagles, scoring 18 points with five rebounds. Senior Lezra Means was a force on the glass for AU, grabbing a season-high 11 rebounds and giving out three assists. 

Sophomore forward Clayton Winter was strong in the paint with eight points and nine rebounds for Asbury. 

Chris Rawlins led CU-Harrodsburg with 16 points on 7-13 shooting, two blocks, and two rebounds. Kereoin Douglas was also efficient for the Pioneers with ten points and nine rebounds. 

The two familiar opponents started out back-and-forth from the very beginning, seeing four lead changes in the first ten minutes. With 8:54 to go in the first half Ben McNew made a three for Asbury that tied things at 21. 

Layups from Caleb Wallis and John Shoulders closed out the first half for AU as they went into the break trailing CU-Harrodsburg, 37-40. 

AU was outrebounded in the first half 21-23, but only committed two turnovers offensively. John Shoulders and Dakota Walden each had 12 points going in the second half. 

Asbury fought back to tie things at 51 in the second half with 12:45 to go off a John Shoulders three. CU-Harrodsburg responded with a 10-2 run over the next five minutes that gave them a 61-53 lead over Asbury with 7:47 to go. 

With under three minutes to go, AU went on a 5-0 run powered by a Clayton Winter layup and a John Shoulders three that tied the game at 67. 

CU--Harrodsburg had the ball with only 22 seconds to go and a 75-71 lead, but were called with a technical foul that sent AU to the line. John Shoulders made both free throws and then Caleb Wallis went to work with the 30-footer that sent Asbury to the victory.

Asbury finishes an impressive regular season at 17-6, one of the strongest in school-history. AU will now look toward the NCCAA Mideast Regional they host this coming Friday night in the Luce Center at 7 pm.
