WILMORE, Ky. --- Today's gameday matchup previews are below:

Asbury vs. Simmons College of Kentucky  | 1/14/23 | 3 PM | Wilmore, Ky. | Men's Basketball  

Asbury at Alice Lloyd | Pippa Passes, Ky. | 7 PM

The Asbury men's basketball team (13-3) will return to the Asbury Luce Center on Saturday afternoon to host Simmons College of Kentucky (6-9) at 3 pm. Asbury met Simmons earlier this season on November 22nd, when the Eagles took a 82-70 road victory for their seventh straight win. 

AU is coming off a battle-tested road matchup at Alice Lloyd College, where 16 threes weren't enough for Asbury as the fell in the final seconds, 84-82. The Eagles will look to get back into the win column on Saturday after winning consecutive games before Tuesday night's defeat. 

In the earlier game this season against Simmons, Asbury dropped an impressive 52 points of the first half that set the tone for the rest of the contest. Junior guard Caleb Wallis led AU in scoring in the game with 21 points on 7-13 shooting from the field. 

Simmons College is coming off a strong road win over Boyce College last Wednesday, defeating the Bulldogs 73-57. So far this season Simmons has been led in scoring by Jonathon Henry, a six-foot-one senior guard. Henry averages 15.7 points per game and dropped 26 in his last game against Boyce. 

Asbury will be eager to return to their home court for the first Asbury Athletics home event of the 2023 spring semester. The Eagles are 5-2 on their home court so far this season.

Asbury at the University of the Cumberlands | 1/14/23 | 1 PM | Williamsburg, Ky. | Men's Swimming 

Asbury Men's Swimming will compete in a dual meet against the University of the Cumberlands today in Williamsburg, Ky.
The men's competition will compete in 16 events this afternoon.

The Eagles have faced the Patriots seven previous times, unable to come out with a victory so far. The teams last matched up on January 17, 2020, and the Eagles will be looking to redeem themselves and earn the first win against the Patriots in program history.


Asbury at the University of the Cumberlands | 1/14/23 | 1 PM | Williamsburg, Ky. | Women's Swimming 

Asbury Women's Swimming will travel to Williamsburg, Ky., to compete against the University of the Cumberlands in a dual meet.
Today the women's competition will feature 16 events.

The team has faced the University of the Cumberlands seven previous times, and hold a matchup record of 0-6-1. Similar to the men's team, the women last faced the Patriots on Jaunary 7, 2020, and will be eager to bring home a win against this tough competitor.
