WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.--- Asbury men's and women's swimming traveled to Williamsburg, Ky., this afternoon to compete against the University of the Cumberlands.
The Eagles were outstretched by the Patriots on both sides. The women fell 79-194, and the men dropped 59-205.
Despite the loss on paper, AU had a lot to celebrate, picking up wins on both the men's and women's sides on an afternoon where they accumulated two first place wins, 13 runner-ups, and nine third place finishes.
Amber Schulte picked up first place in the women's 200 freestyle, clocking in at 2:03.50.
The men also had a first place finish for the Eagles, this one in the Men's 400 Medley Relay team which consisted of juniors
Braeden Bisher and
Ian Wang, as well as senior captains
Tommy Johnson and
Elijah O'Connor.
Many other Eagles added second and third place finishes on the night, but the Patriots prevailed to outmatch the Eagles.
After a hard-fought meet, the Eagles look forward to next weekend when they will host their only home meet of the season. The Eagles will celebrate senior day during a double-dual meet.

"We are in the meat of our season right now. Today it was great to see how people competed and were cheering each other on. We are coming to the end of the season and I just feel like the team is clicking and getting to a point where we are excited to share in the successes of each other. As a coach, it's great to see that and that energy is what I want us to take with us as we get into the last few weeks."
