
NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. --- The Asbury women's soccer team hosted Covenant College on Saturday afternoon for their second game of the season. Despite a close battle throughout the game, Covenant was able to net three goals and take the 3-1 victory over Asbury.
After 15 minutes of even play the Scotts from Covenant got on the board first, scoring a goal to take the 1-0 lead. The game was soon after sent into a weather delay that kept the teams in their locker room until coming back out with 14 minutes left to go in the first half.
In the 42nd minute it was Caroline Absher for AU making a strong effort at goal but just being stopped short by the Covenant goalkeeper. Covenant would counter off of this save all the way down the field to score another goal before the end of the half, taking the 2-0 lead.
Covenant added a third goal in the 2nd half but AU answered with their own goal from freshman Sydney Tucker (1st of her career), making the final score 1-3.Â

Asbury's next match will be Wednesday evening at Berea College at 7pm.Â
