WILMORE, Ky. --- Today's gameday matchup previews are below:
Asbury at Defiance | 9/24/22 | 1 PM | Women's Soccer
Asbury women's soccer is traveling today to Defiance, Oh., to play the Defiance Yellow Jackets. The teams will kickoff at 1 pm.
This will be the first time in program history that the Eagles and Yellow Jackets have played each other in a match.
Both teams are coming into today's match off of a loss, and will be hungry to fight for a win on their season. The Eagles most recently played Transylvania University in an especially intense match, barely getting outbeat by a score of 3-2. AU has been increasing their intensity throughout the season, and the players are ready to bring the momentum from their previous game into this afternoon's game.
Offensively, spectators should keep an eye out for Junior
Genevieve Hill this afternoon, who has earned herself a 3 game goal streak, scoring in each of the Eagles' past 3 matches. Hill is a huge threat on the field, with the ability to score as well as contribute assists. Hill is currently the Eagles' number one goal scorer, followed by freshman
Mary Hostetter.
On the defensive end, a key player for TeamAU is sophomore goalkeeper
Maliya Crump. Crump currently has a notable save percentage of 74%, and will be a leader for the Eagles' defense this afternoon.
Asbury at Earlham | 9/24/22 | 1 PM | Volleyball
Asbury vs. Anderson | 9/24/22 | 3 PM | Volleyball
The Asbury volleyball team headed to Richmond In., to compete in a tri-match today. The partiating teams include Asbury, Earlham, and Anderson. Both games will take place in the Druley Performance Gymnasium in Earlham College, home to the Schuckman Court.
Asbury's first match this afternoon will begin at 1 pm against their competition's host, Earlham College.
This will be the first time that AU has faced Earlham in program history.
The Eagles' second game this afternoon will be against Anderson University at 3 pm. This is another team that the Eagles have yet to play in program history.
Asbury is coming off of a win against Kentucky State University, and are looking to carry this momentum into the tri-match today.
A noteworthy player for TeamAU is freshman
Lucy Kate Gray, who tallied a personal best of 52 assists in the Eagles' game against Rio Grande. This statistic also has her tied for 1st place in the country for most assists in a single game this season in the NCCAA.
Asbury at Defiance | 9/24/22 | 3 PM | Men's Soccer
The Asbury men's soccer team is on the road this weekend heading to compete against Defiance College in Defiance, Oh. AU is looking to get back into the win column after cooling down in their last two games with close defeats in each.
Asbury had seen two ties on the season while Defiance has tied three times. For the first competition between these two programs kickoff will be at 3 pm as the strong offense from AU will look to attack and cause damage early.
Asbury at EKU | 9/24/22 | ALL DAY | Men's Tennis
Asbury men's tennis will compete on Saturday on day two of the Colonel Invite at Eastern Kentucky University. The Eagles have had an incredible fall season so far and will look to finish their fall strong with their last day of competition before the spring season.
Asbury's doubles teams have rose to the occasion all season long, showing tremendous connection and skill that has led to many victories. This team looks to be poised for a spring season that has much success in store.
