RICHMOND, Ky. --- The Asbury men's tennis team completed their successful fall season this Friday and Saturday by competing in the Colonel Invite at Eastern Kentucky University. Asbury put together another strong showing with numerous singles wins and more doubles success that has been the case all fall season.
Gregorio Ingles took two of his three singles matches, only losing to Mayer from EKU in a tiebreak. Alejandro Caceres, Joseph Lewis, and Chakib Madcur also took two of their three individuals matches to represent AU.
Asbury has been rolling in doubles all season long and completed their fall run this weekend with their lead team taking a trip to the finals of this invite. Rodrigo Cavero and Gregorio Ingles defeated Centre in the first two rounds, then Thomas More in the semi-finals to earn their ticket into the finals. Cavero and Ingles met up with Eastern Kentucky University's Mayer and Stahlbrand, being edged by EKU 2-6 to finish in second place in doubles.

"I am very happy with the way the guys have competed this fall, we have played more competitive teams with each tournament this fall and improved with each one. We are in a good place as we head into the spring. They were given a robust and competitive fall compared to 2021 and really rose to the challenge. They are motivated to continue improving but have certainly earned a well deserved break for a bit. It is a really fun group to be with that has learned a lot from the pas few event sand I could not be more proud of the current team."
