
KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- Asbury baseball (29-15) faced the 2 seed Concordia University Ann Arbor (37-20) in day two of the NCCAA World Series. In a fantastic back-and-forth baseball game, Concordia scored 3 in the 8th to edge AU, 6-8.Â
Walker Paris took the mound for AU and provided 5 innings of work, giving up 6 hits and 4 earned runs. The bullpen for AU covered the final 4 innings with Caleb Poll, Bryce Barber, Jackson Cole, and David Savastio going an inning each. Concordia got 4 runs off the AU bullpen in 4 innings.Â
Concordia got on the board first in the first inning on a two-out RBI double to left field. AU answered in the 3rd when Walker Paris and Kaiden Zacharias both hit RBI singles, 2-1 AU.Â
In the 5th it was Concordia regaining the lead on 2 two-out singles for 3 runs in the inning, taking the 4-2 lead over AU. Asbury came right back in the bottom half of the inning as Walker Paris blasted a ball off the left field wall to score Cam Weaver and Jackson Cole, 4-4.Â
Concordia again retook the lead in the 6th, but AU held them to 1 run in the inning by Jackson Cole throwing out a runner at the plate for the third out (4-5 Concordia). The bottom of the 7th was a big inning for Asbury, Kaden Dugle led off with a double down the left field line. Walker Paris (single) and Parker Burge (double) each capped the inning with key two-out RBI knocks to give Asbury the 6-5 lead.
Concordia answered one final time in the 8th as they pushed 3 more runs across on 3 hits to take the 8-6 lead over AU. Asbury's offense couldn't get anything going in the 8th and 9th as they fell for the first time in 6 games, 6-8.Â

* Walker Paris had 3 hits in the game with 2 RBIs and a run scored
* Jackson Cole was 2-3 with 3 runs scored

* Concordia out-hit Asbury 13-10, just enough to take the win

"This was an incredible baseball games that our guys fought all game long for. We had timely hits, big defensive plays and resiliant effort through 9 innings. Concordia is a really good team, hats off to them for the way they played. We are looking forward to playing tonight to bounce back and get into the win column.
