Softball Falls On Senior Day Against Thomas Moore, In last Doubleheader of the Season



WILMORE, Ky.- The Asbury University Softball Team fell this past Monday against their two games with Thomas Moore. The Eagles were unable to pull a victory despite it being their Senior Day.
The Eagles lost in 7 innings in game one by an 8-2 difference and fell in game two 7-4. Asbury's final record now stands at 11-16 for the season.

Senior Day
Asbury Softball finally was finally able to recognize all 5 of its seniors after a 15-day break from weather issues.
The Seniors were recognized after game two for their time and effort given to the program.
The Seniors for the Eagles are: Kiana Allen, Jenni Beasley, Heather Laird, McKenzie Meyer, Harley Wagoner, and Taylor Wilson.
 
Game One
*After a stalemate first inning, Thomas Moore exploded with 6 runs in the top of the second inning.
*At the top of the fifth inning, Thomas Moore scores two more runs. Eagles were able to retaliate with one run at the bottom of the fifth inning.
*Through another scoreless inning, the Eagles are able to rack in another run at the bottom of the seventh, ending the game with 8-2.
*Olivia Palasek and Taylor Enlow both recorded two hits each for the game, and Taylor Wilson, Harley Wagoner, and Taylor Sanders all recorded one hit each.
*Runs by Asbury scored by Olivia Palasek and Taylor Enlow.
*Taylor Enlow began the game and pitched for three innings, while Kaylee Strunk finished the remaining four innings.
 
Game Two
*Eagles begin the game by scoring one run in the bottom of the first. Taylor Enlow was able to come home from an RBI by Harley Wagoner.
*Keeping Thomas Moore at bay, Eagles are able to rack in another three in the bottom of the third. Runs scored by Olivia Palasek, Kaitlyn Wilson, and Jenni Beasley.
*Taylor Sanders recorded 3 hits, Harley Wagoner with two, and Taylor Enlow and Brynna Reynolds recording one.
*After two scoreless innings, Thomas Moore retaliated with 7 runs in the top of the seventh inning. Thomas Moore totaled 8 hits and 6 RBI's from the game.
*McKenzie Meyer held strong, pitching for six innings, then Anna Grace Duncan finished the game, pitching the last inning.
 
This series brings the Eagles to a close this season, finishing with an overall record of 11-16.
