Asbury men's basketball (12-2) is coming off a strong win on Wednesday night over Bethany College that earned them a spot in the McDonald's of Bluffton tournament championship against Miami-Hamilton University (9-4). Asbury met Miami Hamilton twice last season, falling in both contests. AU will seek for their first ever win over the Harriers on Thursday at 2 pm.
AU scored over 90 points for their second consecutive game last night and took their third win in a row. The Asbury defense held strong in the second half against Bethany, only allowing 29 points in the half. The Eagles were led by graduate forward
Nick Fort, who scored a season-high 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his 10th double-double this season.
Miami-Hamilton is 9-4 so far this season and have won their last seven games. The Harriers edged Bluffton University on Wednesday night (63-61) to defeat the host team of the McDonalds of Bluffton tournament. Miami-Hamilton is led in scoring by junior guard Ryan Marchal, averaging 17.5 points per game.
The Asbury offense will look to continue its stride against a challenging Miami-Hamilton opponent in a neutral sight contest this afternoon.
