Asbury vs. Campbellsville Harrodsburg | 12/20/22 | 7 PM | Asbury Luce Center
The Asbury men's basketball team (10-2) welcomes NCCAA opponent Campbellsville Harrodsburg (3-9) to the Luce Center on Tuesday night for a 7 pm tip-off. The two programs met twice last season in 2022, splitting the contests with each team taking the win on their home court. CU-Harrodsburg took the win on January 12th but Asbury responded to defeat the Pioneers on February 17th.
Both teams are members of the National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA), Asbury being a Division I member and CU-Harrodsburg Division II. CU-Harrodsburg is coming off a 23-9 season in 2021-2022 that saw them take home the NCCAA Division II National Championship.
Asbury's last offical contest was last Wednesday when
Nick Fort powered AU past Mount St. Joseph for their 10th win of the season. AU met NCAA Division II opponent Alabama-Huntsville this past weekend for an exhibition contest that saw senior
John Shoulders score a season-high 19 points.
Nick Fort leads AU with 23.3 points and 10.8 rebounds per game on the season. Junior
Caleb Wallis sets the tone in assists with 3.8 per game while senior
Dakota Walden is averaging over a steal per game.
CU-Harrodsburg is led in scoring by junior guard Antoine Darby, averaging 16.2 points per game. Darby also averages 3.4 assists, 2.4 steals, and 5.3 rebounds each game.
This matchup will be the last before heading into Christmas break for both teams. Asbury will look for their second consecutive win on their home court and 11th win in 13 games to start the season.
