Asbury vs. Alice Lloyd College | 11/29/22 | 7 PM | Men's Basketball

Asbury men's basketball returns home to the Luce Center on Tuesday night to face a familiar matchup in Alice Lloyd College. Tip-off will be at 7 pm as the game will air live on Asbury Sports Digital Network and live stats will be accessible.

Out of 37 matchups since 2006 between the two programs Asbury leads the way with 22 wins. The teams met three times last season with Asbury losing the first at home, but then defeated Alice Lloyd on the road in overtime and finished the season in the NCCAA National Tournament by defeating them again. 

Asbury has had an incredible start to their season, averaging ten more points per game than their opponents at 83.7 to 73.9. The Eagles are shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from behind the three-point line. Four Eagles have already made double-digit threes in Caleb Wallis, Ben McNew, John Shoulders and Dakota Walden.

The AU defense has followed the offense being aggressive and precise, turning their opponents over a total of 95 times combined in their first seven games. 

Graduate forward Nick Fort will be honored before starting lineups tonight for his entrance into the 1,000 career points club. Fort accomplished this feat on November 21 against Midway where he went on to hit the game-winning shot to power the Asbury win, 69-68. Coupled with his 1,000 career points Nick has gathered over 500 career rebounds at AU. Fort has reached these accolades in just over two seasons at Asbury since transferring in 2020.
