LOUISVILLE, Ky.--- The undefeated season for Asbury moved to 7-0 on Tuesday night with a road win at Simmons College of Louisville, 82-70. Junior guard
Caleb Wallis led the way with 21 points on 7-13 shooting, knocking down three three's to continue his impressive opening season at Asbury.
Nick Fort followed Wallis scoring 16 points going 6-11 from the field and 1-1 from three, also gathering eight rebounds and dishing two assists. Sophomore forward
Clayton Winter was perfect from the field for the third time this season going 4-4 for ten points knocking down both of his free-throw attempts. Winter also had two assists and three rebounds, all three being offensive.
Ben McNew was the fourth Eagle to score in the double-digits with 11 points off three three's and 2-2 at the line to continue his efficient offensive attack.
Dakota Walden dropped five assists for Asbury with nine points and three rebounds.
John Shoulders knocked down two three's to score six points and gathered three steals.
Simmons College took an early lead in the first minute of the game before Asbury took a lead they wouldn't let go of the rest of the night. AU went on a nine-point scoring run halfway through the first half to extend their lead to 29-9. Asbury's run was balanced but capped by three three's, two from McNew and one from Fort.
Asbury's offense continued to pour in the points, finishing the half with a three from junior
Luke Dawalt to give them their highest scoring half of the season at 52 points up 23 over Simmons.
AU took their largest lead of the night from a
Clayton Winter jumper taking the score to 54-29. From this point on Simmons College climbed throughout the entire second half, cutting the Asbury deficit to as short as ten at 76-66 with under five minutes to go.
Four late free-throws from
Caleb Wallis sealed the Asbury 82-70 win, their seventh out of seven games this season. AU continues to extend the school-record they have already broken with the most consecutive wins to start a season, previously at five.

Asbury will now take a week off for Thanksgiving and return with a spotlight home game against Alice Lloyd college on Tuesday night at 7 pm.
