WILMORE, Ky. - The Asbury University volleyball team lost a hard-fought match to IU Southeast on Tuesday evening. The Eagles provided a stiff test for the Grenadiers in the first two sets, but eventually lost in straight sets, 27-25, 25-22, and 25-13. AU falls to 1-6 for the season, while IU Southeast improves to 5-7.
Highlights:
• Emma Grace Gray led the Eagles in kills contributing 11, while Lindsey Castle led the team in assists with 16.
• Asbury engaged in a competitive back-and-forth first set until IUS came from behind to record three straight kills to end the set.
• The Eagles posted 12 kills in the first set, three more than IUS.
• Asbury built a 12-10 lead in the second set, but a 7-3 run by the Grenadiers sealed the win in the second frame.
• The Grenadiers completed 17 kills and only had three errors during the second set.
• AU struggled in the third set, finishing with only nine kills and committing three errors.
