WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University baseball team bounced back into the winning column on Wednesday evening with a 13-12 victory over Alice Lloyd in 10 innings.
The Eagles (24-9) hit a season-best six home runs on the day and senior
Garrett McIntire hit for the cycle in the victory.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10
th,
Austin Dick stepped in and hit the game-wining walk-off RBI to left field.
Asbury accumulated 17 hits on the day, which ties its season-high. McIntire's 4-4 effort at the plate included two RBI, a home run, triple, double, and a single while
Walker Paris collected three hits and six RBI.
Paris, who set a new program record for the most single-season RBI recorded two home runs on the day, with a three-run shot in the bottom of the seventh and an inside the park homer in the bottom of the 10
th. He currently leads the NAIA with 58 RBI this season.
The Mount Vernon, Ind. native also got the job done on the mound in the final stages of the game as he earned the win helping guide the Eagles to victory.
Freshman
Kaden Dugle,
Nathaniel Frank, and
Tanner McKee all went yard along with McIntire and Paris.
Asbury is back in action on Thursday at 6 PM against Ohio Christian.
