WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University baseball team won its 13
th consecutive game on Friday evening with two victories over Midway University in River States Conference play. Asbury took game one 11-8 and rolled to a 9-1 victory in game two.
The Eagles improve to 36-9 and are 21-5 in the conference. With tonight's victories, Asbury has clinched the No. 2 seed for the RSC Championship Tournament next week.
Game one
*The Eagles recorded back-to-back HR's in the bottom of the first as
Trevor Campbell hit his seventh homer of the year on a two-run shot, followed by
Walker Paris' 12
th HR of the year to make it 3-0 Eagles.
*Asbury added four more runs in the second with two-RBI doubles from
Colton Back and
CJ Compton to push the lead out to 7-0.
*AU led 8-0 heading into the fifth, but Midway would score six runs in the next three innings to cut the lead down to 9-6.
*RBI singles from
Walker Paris and
Matthew Baker in the seventh and eighth innings gave the Eagles two more runs of insurance to preserve the win.

Will McDonald earned the victory on the mound as he pitched five innings and struck out six. The Eagles' pitching staff combined for eight strikeouts in the victory.

Colton Back led the Eagles' bats with another impressive performance at the plate as he went 5-5 with two doubles and two RBI.
Game two
*It was all Eagles in game two with a dominating effort from
Tyler Morrison on the mound.
*Morrison threw his sixth complete game of the season, a team-high, and allowed zero earned runs while giving up just three hits. Additionally, Morrison struck out eight batters in the win.
*Trailing 1-0, Asbury would score nine unanswered runs for the win in game two.

Trevor Campbell to tie up the game in the first.
*The Eagles would score three runs on five hits in the second inning to lead 4-1.
*Asbury scored four runs in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Colton Back all finished with two hits each. Campbell, Back, and
Walker Paris all notched two RBI additionally.
