OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Asbury University baseball team set a new single-season program record on Friday night with a doubleheader sweep at Brescia. The Eagles now hold the most wins ever in a single season in program history with 34 wins.
AU took game one 15-11 and won the second game 12-1 as they have now racked up 11 straight victories.
At 34-9, the Eagles are 19-5 in conference play and are in the second place in the league standings, which would mark the highest finish for Asbury since joining the RSC.
AU is back in action for their final regular season series against Midway on Thursday at home.
Game one
*Colton Back's RBI triple scored
Walker Paris and
Garrett McIntire in the top of the first for a 2-0 lead.
CJ Compton would bring home Back moments later on an RBI single to push their lead out to 3-0.
*The Bearcats would tie up the contest with three runs on four hits in the bottom of the inning.
*Asbury didn't flinch and would score six runs on five hits in the second, highlighted by a two-RBI triple from
Trevor Campbell.

Alec Lush, who recorded the win on the mound held the Bearcats scoreless for the next three frames as AU took an 11-4 lead heading into the sixth.
*BU cut into the lead with five runs in the sixth inning off four hits to make it an 11-9 ball game.

Walker Paris, who went 5-5 on the day, smashed a two-run HR in the next half-inning to punch the lead back out to four runs at 13-9.
*Paris, Back, and Campbell all tallied three RBI in the win as they combined for 11 hits altogether.
Game two
*The Eagles dominated the series finale as they held Brescia to only four hits.
Tyler Morrison pitched a complete game and allowed zero earned runs, while striking out six batters.

Trevor Campbell had another big game at the plate with three hits and four RBI, all team-highs for the game.
*Campbell, Back, and Paris all finished with a double apiece as AU tacked on 11 hits in the victory.
