WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University women's soccer team collected its third straight shutout on Thursday evening, as the Eagles prevailed 1-0 to advance on to the River States Conference Championship Semifinals.
The Eagles win their third straight game and improve to 10-5-1 and will travel to Point Park on Tuesday for the semifinal round.
Delaney Long scored the lone goal for the Eagles midway through the opening half off a great assist from
Hannah Pack.
Asbury controlled the possession for the entirety of the game which led to 22 shots, 14 of which landed on-goal.
Ohio Christian was held without a shot attempt throughout the contest as the Eagles' defense helped keep the ball on the other end of the field for a majority of the night.
AU collected 10 corner kicks and had several opportunities to score but were unable to add on to their lead.
Elizabeth Sparks posted seven shots for the Eagles, as
Delaney Long and
Peighton Sowder each collected three shots on goal.
