WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University men's soccer team saw its six-game winning streak end in a 3-1 loss at home to Oakland City in River States Conference play on Saturday afternoon.
Asbury drops just its second game of the season and moves to 8-2-1 on the year and also falls to 5-2-1 in the RSC league standings.
After a scoreless first half, Oakland City scored the first goal of the game in the 61
st minute to take a 1-0 lead off a PK.
The Mighty Oaks would add another goal moments later in the 66
th minute to take a 2-0 advantage.
Zachary Robbins put the Eagles on the board off a penalty kick in 74
th minute to reduce the lead to 2-1.
However, OCU would score off a free kick just three minutes later to put the lead back to two goals and put the game away.
Asbury was limited to six shots in the loss as OCU placed 12 shots in total.
Trey Miller logged four saves at goalkeeper and
Owen Sigey tacked on a team-high two shots.
AU will return to action at home on Thursday against IU East at 7 PM.
