Eagles Drop Road Game at IU Southeast

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The Asbury University men's basketball team dropped a 97-80 decision on Saturday afternoon at IU Southeast in New Albany, Ind.

The loss moves the Eagles to 13-4 overall and ends their previous two-game winning streak.

Asbury will return to action on Tuesday at 7:30 PM against Midway at the Luce Center. Tuesday's game is also Senior Night.  

Key Stats
*Five Eagles finished in double figures scoring as Nick Fort led the way with a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds on 6-13 shooting.
*Siah Holifield posted 15 points on 60 percent shooting (6-10).
*JoAunn Rivers scored a career-high 14 points on 4-7 shooting, while Eric Powell added 13 points, four rebounds, and three steals.
*Dakota Walden tallied 10 points, marking the second time this season he has reached double figures scoring.
*Asbury finished just 6-23 from three-point range and committed 18 turnovers in the loss.
*IU Southeast scored 27 points off turnovers and knocked down 16 threes on Saturday.

Highlights
*The Grenadiers' hot shooting from beyond the arc gave IUS a 30-15 lead through the first eight minutes of the game.
*Southeast shot 62 percent from the floor in the opening half and were also 11-17 from three for 64 percent.
*The Grenadiers' largest lead of the half was at 52-25 late in the first half. IUS led 57-33 at halftime.
*Asbury outscored IUS in the second half by a 47-40 margin.
*AU shot 43 percent for the contest and finished the final 12 minutes of the game outscoring Southeast 37-19.
