LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Georgia - The Asbury University men's basketball team fell short with a lost 67-63 against Covenant on Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles began their  2021-2022 season.  

Highlights
*The Eagles were outscored in the first half but came back in the second half, outshooting the Scots, but it was too late to secure the win. 
*In the second half, Asbury tied the game at 38-38 with a basket from Nick fort; minutes later, a jumper from Walden gives the Eagle the lead. 
* The Eagles couldn't hold onto the lead after several missed shots while Covenant took the lead back.
*AU scored 14 points off of turnovers compared to Covenants' nine points. 

Key Stats
*The Eagles finished with 32 points inside the paint and totaled five points off of fast breaks.
*Nick Fort compiled a double-double with 21 points and 20 rebounds.
*Dakota Walden also cracked double figures scoring with 20 points and two rebounds.
*Eric Powell chipped in with 10 points and three assists.
*Jamiel Goliday finished with seven points and an assist.
