SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Asbury women's basketball team hit the road to play against Sewanee University. The team played on Saturday and were able to beat the Tigers, 69-57. Unfortunately the Tigers answered back on Sunday for the win against AU, 76-58.
Saturday Game:
- The Eagles were in control of the match, being in the lead the whole night.
- Autumn Herriford hit her 1500th career point but also led the Eagles in 20 points, three assists, two steals, eight rebounds for the match.
- Paige Taylor and Tiffani Riley both contributed ten points apiece.
Once again, Asbury's bench was a huge help to the Eagles, scoring twenty points off the bench.
- AU scored 38 points from the paint compared to the Tiger's 30.

Sunday Game:
- The Tigers came out to play during the match and controlled the game from the beginning.
- Jaclynn Ruble led the Eagles in points, scoring 17 points.
- Other Eagles who contributed to the scoring: Paige Taylor, Trinity Shearer, Sarah Dennison, Emma Strunk, and Tiffani Riley.
-The Eagles were only 19-61 from the field, while Sewanee was 25-58.
- Turnovers hurt the Eagles, recording 13, to which the Tigers were able to score 16 points off of them from turnovers.

"Great atmosphere here at Sewanee! They are a very good team, and we were just outplayed today. It's just as simple as that. We win together and we lose together. We will make the corrections necessary this week and get right back at it on Wednesday against D-3 power Oglethorpe. We love the challenge!"
