PIPPA PASSES, Ky. – The Asbury University men's basketball team closed out the 2019-20 season on Thursday with a 93-85 road win at Alice Lloyd.
Highlights
*AU trailed 16-7 early on, but quickly regained the lead thanks to a 15-3 run.
*The Eagles continued to score at will and built their lead out to 12 at 46-34 moments later.
*Asbury shot 61 percent from the floor in the first half and led 50-41 at the break.

Eric Powell shot 4-5 from three-point territory in the first half, while
Leander Ridgeway posted 11 points and six rebounds in the first 20 minutes of action to lead the way.
*The Eagles offense slowed down to open the second half and only produced 10 points in the first 10 minutes, which allowed ALC to cut the lead down to 60-56.
*Alice Lloyd reduced the deficit down to just two with under six minutes to play, but AU went on a 7-2 run in 60 seconds to push the lead back to seven.
*AU hit nine free throws in the final three minutes of action to help hold off ALC and clinch the game.

Eric Powell led Asbury in scoring with 22 points in the victory. Powell shot 11-19 from three in the two wins this week.

Leander Ridgeway tallied 20 points along with eight rebounds, while
Siah Holifield recorded 15 points and six boards.
