KOKOMO, Ind. – The Asbury University women's basketball team fell short at IU Kokomo on Tuesday evening by a score of 85-68 in River States Conference play.
The Eagles led 27-16 after the first period, but were outscored 69-41 in the final three quarters.

AU falls to 17-10 on the year and drops to 5-8 in RSC league play. The Eagles are currently in fourth place in the RSC West.
IU Kokomo jumps Asbury in the standings into third in the division, and is 14-12 overall.

Kelsey Johnson led Asbury in scoring on the night with 22 points on 8-13 shooting.

Autumn Herriford tabbed a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. Herriford also recorded three assists and three steals.

Zaria Napier posted seven points and six rebounds.

Highlights
*A strong start in the opening period propelled the Eagles to a double-digit advantage at 27-16.
*However, Kokomo outscored the Eagles in the second quarter 29-15 to take a 45-42 lead heading into the locker room.
*Things continued to spiral as the Cougars began the second half on a 10-2 run to take an 11-point lead.
*IUK never trailed in the second half and held their largest lead of the night at 19 points later in the fourth period.
