WILMORE, Ky. -- The Asbury University men's soccer team defeated WVU Tech 1-0 in overtime on Thursday evening at home as the Eagles opened up River States Conference play.

The game was tabbed as senior night for the Eagles, who recognized eight seniors before the contest.

AU improves to 2-0 on the year with the victory and begins conference play with a 1-0 record.

Sam Henderson scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead AU to victory on a goal scored inside the box.

*Asbury had a lot of opportunities in the first half with nine total shots, but AU was unable to find the back of the net.
*WVU Tech fired off 13 shots in the second half, but the defense and goalkeeper Trey Miller made several key blocks and saves to keep the contest scoreless.
*With under four minutes remaining in the first overtime period, Sam Henderson drilled the game-winning goal to keep Asbury undefeated on the year and 1-0 in conference play.
*Last night's win marks just the second time that AU had beaten WVU Tech in program history.
