Women's Soccer Posts Third Straight Shutout with 3-0 Victory at Johnson

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. The Asbury University women's soccer team continued its winning ways on Thursday evening with a 3-0 shutout victory at Johnson University in Knoxville.

The Eagles win their third straight game and improve to 3-3-1 on the year and also give JU its first loss of the season.

AU has outscored its opponents 13-0 in the past three contests.

Highlights
*Asbury placed 14 shots throughout the first 25 minutes of the first half, as they dominated possession and the flow of the game offensively.
*The Eagles controlled the pace of play and possession the entire match, as Johnson wasn't able to record a shot on goal until the 36th minute of action.
*AU had a couple of great looks in the opening minutes but a shot from Caroline Absher hit the post, while Olivia Ruckriegel missed high on a header inside the box.
*In total, Asbury out-shot Johnson 24-2 in the first 45 minutes of play.
*Jordan Holt put the Eagles on the board in the second half with the first goal of the game three minutes into the second half.
*AU added another score as Caroline Absher scored off an assist from Delaney Long.
*The final goal of the match was scored by freshman Rilen Gettings to push the lead ahead to 3-0. Hannah Pack provided the assist on the goal.

*Asbury recorded 43 shots throughout the match and held Johnson to only four.
*Holt posted her second goal of the season, while Absher collected her fourth, a team high.
*Gettings tallied her first career goal in the victory.
