WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University volleyball team was swept at home on Tuesday evening against Lindsey Wilson College in non-conference action.
LWC won the match 25-22, 25-10, 25-13 to record its first victory of the year. Asbury drops to 3-7 overall with the loss, marking its fourth consecutive loss.
Highlights
*Lindsey Wilson tacked on 40 kills in the victory and completed the match with a .322 hitting percentage.
*AU finished the contest with 20 kills and committed 27 errors in total.
*The Eagles had an opportunity to take the opening set with a 20-17 lead, but the Blue Raiders finished the game on a 8-2 run to take a 1-0 lead.
*Lindsey Wilson controlled the second set with a 15-10 lead before pulling away with a 10-0 run to go up 2-0.
*In the final frame, AU led 10-8 early on, but once again the Blue Raiders went on a 7-0 run to lead 15-10. Leading 16-13, LWC won the final nine points of the game to secure the match in straight sets.
