NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. -- The AU men's tennis team put together a strong effort at the RSC Individual Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Top Seed Tennis Club in Nicholasville.
Asbury won six of the nine flighted draws, matching the same success that the women's team posted just a week ago.
Senior
Joshua Turnquest won his flighted draw at No. 1 singles with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Brescia and a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Midway.
Following Turnquest's success was newcomer
Duarte Teixeira. Teixeira won the Blue Draw with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over IUS in the final.
Tanner Sparks won the Black Draw over fellow teammate
Rodrigo Cavero 7-6 (3), 6-2.
Asbury also dominated doubles play at the Tournament as they won all three flighted draws.
The combonation of Felipe Penula/ Turnquest won the Green Draw, while
Choopat Suvimolstean/Cavero claimed the Gold Draw. Rounding out the doubles draws was Teixiera/
Luiz Gustavo Hartkopf, who won the Silver Draw.
AU will look to have similar success at the Campbellsville University Invitational on September 14.
